YOGA AND MENOPAUSE WORKSHOP WITH SUZA FRANCINA

a workshop for women at midlife and beyond

As women redefine themselves and face new challenges and responsibilities, their need for solitude, reflection and spiritual practice increases. In this workshop, Suza Francina, the best-selling author of Yoga and the Wisdom of Menopause: A Guide to Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Health at Midlife and Beyond,  will explain how yoga supports women during this important midlife passage. Not only does yoga regulate the hormonal and glandular changes that take place during menopause, it is a conduit to more bodily and spiritual awareness for women at a time when they need it most.

In this workshop you will learn Essential Restorative Poses for Crossing the Menopausal Bridge as well as how to use yoga during the post menopausal years. We will practice sequences of poses that alleviate specific health challenges common during these transitional years. You'll learn how yoga can help you:

- Relieve  hot flashes, night sweats and other symptoms
- Ease anxiety, mood swings, fatigue and depression
-Strengthen bones and reduce bone loss
-Prevent heart disease and increase cardiovascular strength
-Build your immune system and help cope with cancer
-Support pelvic health and alleviate common problems like heavy bleeding
-Tone your body and improve your overall health and well-being.

This workshop is suitable for all levels.  Please bring a yoga sticky mat, four firm blankets, a strap, and a yoga bolster, if you have one. Props will also be provided.
